The Sunday Afternoon Salsa in Vancouver
Sunday Afternoon Salsa is an annual summer festival held in Downtown Vancouver’s Robson Square since 2006. Organized by Jennifer and Stephen Dancey and co-hosted by Baza Dance Studios, this event offers a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for all.
Starting at 3:00 pm, the festival kicks off with free beginner lessons taught by some of Vancouver’s finest salsa trainers. At 5:00 pm, you can enjoy a dance show featuring performances by local dancers and various dance companies showcasing different styles.
As the night goes on, enjoy the after-party with local DJs playing different styles of music each Sunday. This party begins at 7:00 pm with a free dance lesson, followed by dancing until 9:30 pm.
Robson Square, one of the city’s finest commercial streets, is home to a diverse set of spas, bars, art galleries, and theaters, adding to the experience.
Sunday Afternoon Salsa dances are free and open to everyone, from new learners to experienced dancers.
