3 weeks agoThey have a really decent craft/local beer selection and seems like a decent deal for happy hour. Bar seating tends to fill up during HH but not sure if HH applies to other seating. Recently tried the $15 pizza and beer special. Beer is limited to the parallel lager but you can choose any pizza. Somehow the pizza that comes out looking different than in the pics on their app/website. Was expecting a fresh out of the 900 degree oven “Neapolitan style” pizza but what my friend called “is it microwaved?” came out instead. Tastes ok but I wouldn’t go here for the pizzas based on my experience.

2 months agoBallyhoo Public House has been my number one go-to bar for over two years now, and for good reason. The service is always top-notch, the drinks are consistently great, and the pool table is one of the best in town. Whether I'm there for a casual night out or to unwind after a long day, Ballyhoo never disappoints. Special shoutout to the steam buns—they're absolutely delicious and a must-try! If you're in Vancouver and looking for a great spot, Ballyhoo Public House is the place to be.

2 weeks agoGreat place for Happy Hour Special's! I've had the margarita pizza which was cooked to perfection! The 4 star is because Steam Bun internal heat was cold.

4 months agoI recently had a very disappointing experience at Ballyhoo Bar in Vancouver. My friends and I, all of whom are of South Asian descent, decided to visit the bar. We had 2 friends who are 19, (one born in 2004 and one in 2005) and despite ‘properly checking our IDs’, the staff incorrectly claimed we had one underage individual in our group(specifically pointing out the guest with a YOB of 2004) . This shows a clear lack of attention to detail on their part. What made the situation even worse was the feeling that we were being racially profiled. Although we showed them our ids again and did the math for them, it felt like the staff targeted us simply because of our ethnicity, which is completely unacceptable. You hear about racial profiling all the time but you don’t feel it until it happens to you. This should never be tolerated, especially in a place that should be welcoming and inclusive. Overall, our experience at Ballyhoo Bar was unpleasant and unfair. I have never been treated this way and would not recommend this establishment to anyone who values fair treatment and respect. I’ve attached a picture of the staff that treated us this way.

a month agoHosted a birthday party for my partner here. We were looking for a chill vibe where people could stop by and say hello for a drink or stay longer if they wanted and Ballyhoo was the perfect atmosphere! Chill, relaxed, good cocktails and great food! They also have a pool table which everyone enjoyed so much. Our server was very organized and super friendly, they all really wanted to make sure we all had a good time. The manager, Leo, was super helpful in helping us organize this birthday. We will be back for sure!
